This paper examines the various helminth, protozoan, bacterial and viral organisms which may occur in dog faeces and which may constitute a risk to human health. It also considers the relative risk posed by dogs which are deliberately exercised by their owners on sporting fields as opposed to the risks from stray dogs and foxes
defaecating in these areas.
